These beautiful handmade beads are made by 25 women through a project launched in 2007 in Swaziland. The women who create these ceramic beads are provided with flexible work opportunities and a fair and sustainable source of income enabling her to provide for her family. The group is a member of SWIFT (Swaziland International Fair Trade Association).
Working in a clean, safe environment, the women train and are encouraged to combine their traditional skills with new techniques. some pieces use recycled amber glass (melts to produce a beautiful amber sheen), and tools such as old typewriter keys and forks.
